2x4

Watched 2x4, a movie about an Irish immigrant working in construction in New York City. He's bisexual, drinks and does drugs because he was sexually abused by his uncle. Don't recommend it. First of all, rape or any sexual abuse is a terrible crime but I'm not convinced that it turns people gay or bi. Second, while the character may consider being bi or gay to be a bad thing, the movie considers the main character's sexual orientation to be a worse fate than his drug abuse. Aside from that, the movie had subtitles because you couldn't understand their brogue.I can understand Irish all right, but the film is so poorly made that the sound was terrible, lighting was whatever they had and the acting unbearable. The ethnic stereotypes made me angry.

So, two thumbs down.

Solstice

Today is the Winter solstice, the shortest day of the year. Last summer I visited Rome, Malta and Ireland. I'm a history buff and will visit historic site, museums and churches until I can't walk anymore. I visited two sites, one in Malta, and the other in Ireland, that are both designated World Heritage Sites.

Hagar Qim on Malta is the oldest free-standing monuments in the world at about 3,600 BC. It was a temple and very little is known about the people who built it. Doorways and holes in the walls are aligned to various astronomical events like the winter solstice.

Another fascinating site is Newgrange in the Boyne Valley in Ireland. This passage tomb, from about the same period, has a window above the entrance door that allows sunlight from the rising sun on December 21 to illuminate the interior of the burial mound.

Both structures are amazing considering the limited resources of the builders. They didn't have the wheel or metal tools. yet they were able to carve and transport thousands of tons of stones and assemble them into such complex structures. Amazing.

I was also struck by their astronomical knowledge. Probably not surprising considering their reliance on the growing seasons. Although we describe this day as the shortest day of the year. To them I was probably seen as the start of a new year. Starting today the days would get longer and the sun will return to grow the crops and feed the people.

So, happy new year, happy holidays and hope is born again.

Who Writes Gay Porn?

It would seem that most of the "vanilla" commercial gay porn is written by women. Lots of gay porn is not that far removed from straight romantic novels that women love to read. And I read somewhere that a surprising amount of gay porn is purchased and read by women.

Do Lesbians Enjoy Gay Porn?

I was thrown by this article about lesbians who enjoy male porn. They mention a movie, The Kids Are All Right, with such a scene. I did see the movie and remember the scene, but thought it was made up. I was married to a lesbian for many years and she didn't show such an interest. Fascinating what turns people on!

Soldier's Girl

Watched Soldier's Girl earlier this evening and would recommend it. Tragic, but well done.

Lazy Boy

No, I'm not talking about my recliner. It's me. Slacking off on posting. I'll try to do better.

One of the things I have enjoyed doing on the internet (aside from watching porn) is going through the variety of links on different webistes, particularly those for followers. It can lead you into new and strange new worlds. I think that's how I found male chastity. For example, looking at some of the websites people follow starting at a male chastity blog, you might find yourself reading about sissies, female-led marriages, puppy play, christian kink, anime, or cuckolding. Now, none of the above are my thing (obviously some of them are for straights), but I'm fascinated with the diversity and creativity that the human sexual imagination can create.

What's the strangest thing that you have found on the internet?
